There might be a time when an owner of a group may want or need to disable personal chats, whether 1:1 or multi-person chat. An owner may want to turn this off from the outset before members join the group or this may be something that is on and working well until it suddenly needs to be turned off. By default, personal chats are enabled, however disabling personal chats is easy to do. Here’s how:
1. From your group home screen, open your menu and choose Group Settings from the options.
2. From your list of settings, choose Privacy.
3. At the top of the screen, you will see Enable Personal Chats toggled on. To disable your personal chats, toggle this setting to the off position.
4. Once disabled, the next time you try to start a personal chat, you will get a message Personal chat is disabled for this group. At this point, you have successfully disabled personal chats.
