In-app alerts are the ultimate soft reminder, the opposite of a push notification. They are a numbered badge on your GroupSpot icon outside the app and on the notification bell icon inside the app. In-App Alerts are great for the non-urgent reminders such as don’t forget to RSVP to the upcoming banquet or the merchandise store is closing in one week. In-app alerts are great for all those non-urgent reminders. Here’s how to send an in-app alert.
1. From your group’s home screen, select the menu at the top right of your screen and select Communications at the bottom of your menu options.
2. Next, choose In-App Alert from the different communications options.
3. When you send an in-app alert, prepare your message, choose your Subgroups and Sister Groups if applicable, and then press SEND.
4. If you want to get ahead of your communications and schedule your in-app alert for the future, select the clock icon in the Send: Now row to set your delivery date and time.
5. Once you’ve hit the green SEND button, you will return to your main communications screen. To confirm, your push notification has been sent or scheduled, select Log. Once opened, you will find a running list of any upcoming scheduled communications or previously sent messages. This log includes push notifications, in-app alerts, and emails. It’s essentially your sent box. This helps admins audit their communications.
