How to Pin a Post and Feature a Post

All posts are not created equal. That’s why GroupSpot lets admins pin a post and feature other posts in their group feed.

Admins can pin a singular post to the top of their feed until they decide to unpin it. This helps admins promote the most important piece of content for their members to see and engage with, which explains the special treatment. GroupSpot only lets admins pin one post at a time so that members don’t have to navigate a series of pinned posts before they get to the new content. And if you pin a second post, the new post will replace the existing pinned post.

GroupSpot also has feature post designations. These are important posts that get tagged by an admin as more important than a regular post but not as important as your pinned post. When an admin tags the post as a featured post, you will see this designation on the post in the feed. When members swipe twice from their home screen, they will find at the repository of featured post content. This is a great way to keep your important content readily accessible. Let’s explore both:

How to Pin a Post:

1. Locate the post you want to pin in your feed.

2. Tap the ••• at the top right of the post.

3. From the menu, select Pin.

4. Once selected, you will see a confirmation in your lower navigation and a new Pinned Post designation with special treatment.

5. This post will remain pinned to the top of your feed until you decide to unpin it.

6. To unpin your post, tap the ••• on the post once more and select Unpin from the menu.

7. A prompt will appear giving you two options: a) Unpin Only which would remove the pin altogether or b) Unpin the post but change the post designation to a feature post instead.

8. If you want to unpin and make it a feature post, just tap the Feature button. When you do this, the green Pinned Post text turns to an orange Featured Post text.

How to Feature a Post:

1. Locate the post you want to pin in your feed.

2. Tap the ••• at the top right of the post.

3. From the menu, select Save to Featured Posts.

4. You will see a confirmation in your lower navigation and a new Featured Post designation.

5. This new featured post will also live with other posts with this same special designation. Swipe twice from your feed to access your group’s repository of Featured Posts.

6. Your post will remain featured until you decide to remove this designation.

7. To remove the featured post designation, tap the ••• on the post once more and select Remove from Featured Posts from the menu.

8. You will see a confirmation in your lower navigation letting you know that you have successfully removed the post from featured posts.

Depending on the occasion and need, pinning and featuring a post are effective options for any busy admin looking to elevate their post content.
