On the advanced side, GroupSpot offers Subgroups and Sister Groups for the more sophisticated group organizer. Subgroups allow admins to communicate with smaller groups of people within the larger group, while Sister Groups allow admins to reach other like groups by cross-posting.
1. From your create post screen, start by giving your standard post or event a title and add any extra details.
2. Next, assuming you have added Subgroups and/or Sister Groups, you will see an Audience row to tap on to then determine who will see your post.
3. Select the subgroups you want to receive this post. GroupSpot defaults your posts to All Subgroups, but if you want to narrow the scope, deselect the subgroups you don’t want seeing the post.
4. Below Subgroups on this same screen, you will see a row that reads Notify Sister Groups. Once selected, you will be taken to your list of available sister groups to crosspost to. Select which sister groups you want to share with and select DONE when finished.
5. When you return to the Audience screen and your Subgroups and Sister Groups are in order, select DONE again.
6. When you return to the create post screen, tap POST to publish.
Posting to select subgroups helps you tailor your communications and find your target audience within your existing group, while posting to a sister group helps you connect with related groups through cross-posting.
