How to Start a Group on GroupSpot

Whether you run an existing group looking for a new platform or you just want to kick the tires, starting a new group is easy to do on GroupSpot. 

1. From GroupSpot’s home screen, tap the + at the top right of the screen or select Start a Group from the choices at the bottom of your screen.

2. Start by typing in your Group Name and select Next.

3. Select your group type from the menu of choices and then select Next. If you don’t see your group type, you can always start a Custom group where you’ll find all the features needed to run any group.

4. Once you’ve chosen your group type, set your group settings which include Who Can Join?, Who Can Post & Comment?, and whether the group is Searchable or Not Searchable.

5. Once you’ve picked your group settings, it’s time to add your Group Images which include your Group Avatar and your Group Header.

6. Next, choose your Profile you want associated with this group. This only appears if you have created more than one profile on GroupSpot.

7. The final step in starting your new group is adding Membership Questions before joining. These are meant to help you get some extra details about prospective members before letting them into your new group. To do so, start by selecting Add.

8. Type your first question into the Question field.

9. Select the type of question and click Done.  Repeat this process until you have as many member questions as you feel necessary. 

10. Alternatively, if you don’t have any questions, or prefer to do them later, tap DONE to start your new group.
