There may come a time when a group becomes too active for your liking, and you need to adjust or turn off some or all of your personal notifications. The good news is that GroupSpot allows members to customize their notifications on a group-by-group basis. If one group is too chatty, simply disable chat notifications. If another group has too many comments on posts, opt out of comment notifications. Don’t want to receive event reminders? You can switch those off too.
Another great feature of GroupSpot notifications is the highly customizable personal notifications menu. This robust menu lets members choose exactly which notifications they want to receive and how they want to receive them—via banner, badge, or email.
Here’s how to adjust your notifications:
1. From your group’s homescreen, open your group menu
2. Select Group Settings from the menu
3. Select Notifications under your Personal Settings
4. Now you’ll see all the different types of notifications: Admin Communications, New Posts, New Comments, Event Reminders, Group Chat Messages, and Personal Chat Messages.
5. Under each notification type, you will see the different delivery choices: Banner, Badge, and Email.
6. While GroupSpot mostly defaults to Banner and Badge, those are easy to toggle off. Email is never defaulted on except for important Admin Communications.
7. Adjusting personal notifications is easy. Just toggle off the notifications you don’t want to receive anymore.
