There are a few ways to join a new group: invite link, QR Code, and invite code. Invite codes are easy to use, but you should know that they will either be a four digit alphanumeric code for approved-members-only groups or a much longer 17-digit alphanumeric code for super private, single-use-invite groups. When you don’t have the invite link or QR Code readily available, invite codes are another easy way for you to join your new group. Here’s how to find your invite code:
1. From your group’s home screen, select the Barcode icon at the top to get to the new screen where you can type in your invite code.
2. Add your alphanumeric code and then press Confirm Your Code.
3. A drawer will pop up with an invitation to request to join your new group. Tap the blue VIEW INVITATION button.
4. At this point, if you have multiple profiles on GroupSpot, you will have to choose which profile you want to use. Also if the group has membership questions, you will have to answer those before tapping the blue REQUEST TO JOIN button.
5. The Owner of the group will see your request to join and will let you in.
There are two other spots where you can use your invite code. The first is located just under your list of groups from the same home screen. You will see an option to Join with Invite Code. Tap that to launch the same flow as outlined above.
The second spot to use your invite code is from your profile settings. If you tap the Profile icon from your home screen, you will see an option to Enter Invite Code. Tap that, and again you will be routed through the same request to join the group flow.
