GroupSpot gives Owners and Admins the ability to clone a post within the same group as well as crosspost to a different group as long as you’re an Admin of both groups.
There are times when you may want to clone a post within your same group. For example, you want to feature an existing post that’s been bumped down the feed due to new content pushing it down. Cloning this post creates a duplicate post that appears at the top of your feed and triggers a new post notification which will immediately grab member’s attention. Other times you might have added new and updated information to the existing post and you want your membership aware of the changes by cloning the post.
Whatever the reason, cloning your posts inside the same group is easy to do. Here’s how:
1. Locate the post in your feed that you want to clone and tap the ••• on the top right corner of the post.
2. Select Clone from the menu of options.
3. A message will pop up asking whether you want to clone this post to the same group or to a different group.
4. To clone within the existing group, choose Same.
5. Once selected, you land on a new post screen for that particular post. Here you can make edits and update the content as needed.
6. If you get started on your new cloned post but get pulled away, you can save a draft by hitting the X button as if you were going to exit the post and say Yes when asked if you want to save your copy as a draft.
7. Once your cloned post is ready to send, tap the green Post button to deliver this new post within the same group.
Cloning an existing post to a different group is just as easy to do as long as you are an Admin of both groups. Also known as cross-posting, this makes sharing post content from one group to the next simple and efficient.
1. Locate the post in your feed that you want to clone and tap the ••• on the top right corner of the post.
2. Select Clone from the menu of options.
3. A message will pop up asking whether you want to clone this post to the same group or to a different group.
4. To clone this post to a new group, choose Different.
5. Once selected, you arrive at a new screen which includes the full list of groups to which you belong. You can only cross-post to different groups where you’re an Admin.
6. Once you’ve chosen your new group, you land on a post screen for that particular post. Here you can make edits and update the content as needed.
7. Again, if you get started on your new cloned post but get pulled away, you can save a draft by hitting the X button as if you were going to exit the post and say Yes when asked if you want to save your copy as a draft.
8. Once your cloned post is ready to send, tap the green Post button to cross-post to your new group.
