One can’t miss feature on GroupSpot is shared photo albums. Unlike a traditional photo album, which only the post author can add photos to, shared photo albums are different in that all members of the group can easily add their photos. They are especially great around a shared experience or big event where everyone has their phones out taking photos.
These special albums are important because sharing photos is generally a nightmare - think airdrop, text, dropbox, Google Drive, etc.. And sharing photos with people not in your contacts or on the same type of phone is even worse - think iOS, Android, etc.
Shared photo albums solve these pain points by letting each and every member of the group add their photos to a shared repository. And members of your group share only what they’re comfortable sharing with the group. Here’s how to add photos to a shared photo album.
1. In your feed, look for the Shared Photo Album designation on a photo post.
2. Tap on either the photo or photos in the post or the blue Add Your Own Photos text.
3. On the next screen, tap the blue + icon at the top right OR the blue + Add Your Own! button on the bottom right to access your photos.
4. Select the photos that you want to share with your group and then tap Add.
5. The photos you’ve selected will preview at the top of the screen and then tap the green ADD PHOTOS button.
6. At this point, your photo or photos have been added to the shared photo album for everyone to enjoy.
When people share their photos, it’s fun to tap into the shared photo album and see all the different contributors. Tap into any individual photo and note the post author at the top left. Swipe to see more photos and take note of the post author as it will change with every new post author.
You will soon find out that shared albums are downright fun. When you’re in a high-trust group on GroupSpot, where no one is hiding their identity, people feel safe and comfortable sharing their private photos. Some members share their photos, others leave comments on the photos or album, while everyone is engaged.
