If you belong to a number of different groups on GroupSpot, your ‘All Groups’ calendar is your one consolidated calendar for all your group’s events (and games if you have teams). This special calendar gives you a bird’s eye view of all your groups in one spot.
However, we know that groups carry different levels of importance for members. This is especially true for heavy GroupSpot users in many groups. You may belong to several groups but only care about events from a few select groups. Or you may just want to hide a particular group’s calendar because they have too many events that overwhelm your ‘All Groups’ calendar. Either way, this is solved by filtering your ‘All Groups’ calendar to view the calendars of just the groups you want.
One nice benefit of this feature is that once you filter your group calendars, those filters stay in place until you clear them. This means that once you leave your All Groups Calendar screen, your filters stay in place when you return. Let’s take a look at how to filter by group.
1. Tap on the calendar icon in the lower navigation of your home screen to open your ‘All Groups’ calendar.
2. Tap on the filter icon in the top ribbon to open your list of groups.
3. Choose the groups you want included in your filter.
4. Once you’ve made your group selections, tap DONE.
5. When you return to your All Groups Calendar, you will only see the calendars of the groups you selected.
At this point, your filters are set. In the bar at the top of the screen, you will see a Filtered by X Groups which tells you how many filters you have in place. Just to the right, you can tap View to open your list of groups in case you need to add or subtract from your filter list. And then finally, you can tap Clear to strike all the filters you have in place and reset to ‘All Groups’.
GroupSpot takes pride in streamlining the experience for both admins and members. Filtering your ‘All Groups’ calendar to just the calendars you want displayed in one calendar is just one great example of this approach in practice.
