Sometimes there’s confusion why you might not be receiving your group’s notifications…
The most common reason this happens is that your notifications for GroupSpot inside your iPhone and/or Android Settings have to be turned on first before you can receive GroupSpot notifications. Your phone settings will always override your local GroupSpot settings. So check your phone Settings first and make sure notifications are turned on for GroupSpot.
1. Open Settings
2. Select Notifications
3. Scroll down and select GroupSpot from the list of apps
4. Toggle on Allow Notifications
1. Open your device's Settings app.
2. Tap Notifications and then Notifications on lock screen.
3. Choose your notification defaults
4. To update more notification preferences, under "General," turn notifications on or off.
Important: Android settings can vary phone to phone, so there’s no universal, step-by-step process to follow that works across all Android phones. Nevertheless, the best place to start is your phone’s Settings.
Once GroupSpot notifications from your phone settings are switched on, the next step to confirm notifications are turned on inside your group.
1. From your group’s homescreen, open your group menu
2. Select Settings from the menu
3. Select Notifications under your Personal Settings
4. Adjust your notification preferences by toggling on the notifications you wish to receive
Unlike other apps, GroupSpot lets you adjust your notification preferences on a group-by-group basis. If one group is too chatty, turn it off. If you want email reminders from another group, turn that on. You’re in control of the notifications you receive, just make sure they’re switched on first.
